One Year of The Polymath - Returning to the Vessel and the New Moon in Virgo
The Polymath is one year old. The birthday was September 4, but the pause carried me to today.
The Polymath had been germinating for two or three years before it came to light.
I knew that I wanted a place for the things that kept connecting in my head. Ideas, books, music, astrology, Human Design, technology, art, materials, places, observations. Plus The Polymath Sessions, and Maps & Readings.
Over the past year, The Polymath has become a little of all those things.
It has also reminded me that not everything needs to stay.
Some ideas grow. Some disappear. Some turn out to be useful. Some are interesting for a while and then have done what they came to do.
Perhaps that is part of what a vessel is. It holds things long enough for us to see what they are. Then we decide what remains.
The timing feels right. The Pisces Full Moon of August 28 has just passed, and the New Moon in Virgo arrives on September 10.
Pisces dissolves boundaries. Virgo sorts, tends and makes distinctions.
I have always lived somewhere between those two movements. In thresholds. In liminal spaces. Although my current progressed Moon in Pisces in the first house, along with other placements, has been taking me to previously unknown realms.
The Polymath also lives in crossings, in different planes.
After one year, I don't want it to become bigger simply for the sake of becoming bigger.
I want it to remain a place where things can meet.
Where something unexpected can be noticed. Where a discarded object can raise a question about value and circulation.
Where a book can lead somewhere completely different. Where music can sit beside mathematics, or astrology beside technology, or an ordinary observation can suddenly open into something larger.
That is still enough. Perhaps more than enough.
One year on, The Polymath is still, and will remain, a vessel.
And I'm still curious about what will find its way into it and my life next.
