Music To the Stars - My Big Bang

In mid August 2022 I woke up with music already there: Big Bang and two other tracks, and the name of something larger of which they are part of.

I still don't know the full shape of the whole electro-acoustic piece, in its 15+ tracks, but it's almost formed. The whole cycle remains unnamed in public, but Big Bang was one of the first to arrive.

The Big Bang here is a fragment of the radio edit, in itself a tiny fraction of its full 10+ minutes. A glimpse of the start.

The guitar, by Francisco Silva, arrived the same way as Big Bang, out of nowhere. Unknown to me, he had acquired a Fender Mustang. Unknown to him, I had started creating the large electro-acoustic piece.

He sent me some guitar lines, for me to hear the sound of his new guitar, and what he was doing with it. I thought: "What if I put them in some of the tracks?" Which I did, without telling him, then sending him the result.

Later, Francisco wove the same guitar line into Pastoral Epigraph, a track by his The June Carriers. A quiet instance of twinship: one theme, two vessels, each carrying it differently.

Sometimes creation comes as a threshold. Not resolution, but ignition.

You can read more of the story of the interwoven of Big Bang and Pastoral Epigraph here.
