Autumn Equinox

The Autumn Equinox is not fire, not deep night, but balance. A turning of the year that holds both. The harvest gathered, the descent beginning.

It sits as the midpoint between the vibrant height of Beltane and the quiet of Winter Solstice. Birth and growth meet pause and reflection.

The rhythm of the seasons carries us whether we name it or not, a reminder that light always meets dark, and dark always meets light.

It's a reminder that balance isn’t static, it’s a living rhythm – inhale/exhale, light/dark, motion/rest.

It's a word for the season: intention, harmony, or clarity. Something to carry like a stone in the pocket.

Today is a pause in motion. Not to stop, but to notice. To let the lantern shine evenly, to feel the breath of balance before the tilt deepens into winter. Towards my Solstice birthday and the growing return of the light.
